“BCCI Opens Bids for Women’s Premier League Official Partner”

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has initiated a tender process, calling for quotes from reputable organizations to secure the ‘Official Partner Rights’ for the Women’s Premier League.

As per the BCCI, the Request for Quotations (RFQ) details comprehensive terms and conditions that will govern both the submission and evaluation of bids.

The process adheres to a specific timeline: the RFQ must be acquired by November 12, queries can be raised until November 14, and final proposal documents should be submitted by November 21.

“The RFQ will be accessible upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,00,000 plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax,” stated BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.

Interested parties are required to email their payment particulars to rfq@bcci.tv following the outlined procedure in the RFQ.

BCCI emphasized that only quotations for product categories not designated as ‘Blocked’ or ‘Prohibited’ in the RFQ will be deemed eligible.

“The submission of quotes for a Blocked Product Category or Prohibited Product Category will be considered ineligible and non-compliant. It is important to note that simply purchasing the RFQ does not automatically allow submission of a quote,” the statement added.

The WPL 2026 auction is scheduled to take place on November 26 and 27 in New Delhi, as reported by Cricbuzz. Teams have been informally notified about the proposed venue.

Despite being hailed as a significant event, the auction is anticipated to conclude in a single day. With only five teams in the league and squads limited to 18 players, the process is expected to progress swiftly, even with up to 90 players available for bidding.

Introducing the Right to Match (RTM) rule for the first time will enable franchises to reclaim a released player by matching the highest bid during the auction. However, teams retaining all five players will face a deduction of INR 9.25 crore from their auction purse and will forfeit the RTM option.

Mumbai Indians (MI) are entering the auction as defending champions, having triumphed over Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2023 final and a previous title showdown. In contrast, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), despite winning the championship last year, failed to make it to the Eliminator in both 2023 and 2025.
