Gunshots were fired outside the residence of Punjabi artist Chani Nattan in Canada. Allegedly, individuals linked to criminal Lawrence Bishnoi have taken credit for the shooting, which is part of a series of violent incidents involving Indian criminal groups in Canada.
A social media statement by the gang implied that Nattan was targeted due to his developing relationship with fellow artist Sardar Khera. Authorities have initiated an inquiry into the matter.
The claim was circulated by Goldy Dhillon, who identified himself as a member of the Bishnoi gang. The message conveyed a warning that any collaboration with Sardar Khera in the future would lead to consequences, as they intend to cause harm to Khera.
Footage of the shooting has circulated widely on social platforms, showing multiple gunshots aimed at the property. It remains uncertain whether anyone was present during the incident.
This incident adds to a string of escalating gun-related violence occurrences in Canada. Just a week before, three individuals associated with criminal Rohit Godara admitted to shooting a man and issued a threat indicating further actions.
Additionally, comedian Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Surrey, British Columbia, was targeted for the third time within four months by affiliates of Lawrence Bishnoi, Kulveer Sidhu, and Goldy Dhillon. Previous attacks on the cafe occurred on July 10 and August 7, prompting a reassessment of security measures for Kapil Sharma.
In a separate incident on October 16, a restaurant in Brampton was attacked by associates of the Bishnoi and Goldy Dhillon groups. Another firing incident on October 7 targeted multiple properties of a restaurant owner in Surrey, with allegations of mistreatment towards female staff and non-payment of wages.
