Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin commended South Africa A’s batsman Jordan Hermann for his brilliant 94-run innings in the second unofficial Test against India A. Hermann’s impressive performance against top Indian bowlers like Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav, and Akash Deep garnered significant attention.
Hermann’s innings of 94 off 123 deliveries, comprising 13 boundaries and a six, laid a strong foundation for South Africa A as they pursued a challenging target of 417 on the fourth day. Partnering with Lesego Senokwane, Hermann engaged in a crucial 156-run partnership to kickstart his team’s innings.
Impressed by Hermann’s exceptional performance, Ashwin took to his social media platform to acknowledge the young talent’s progress in the cricketing world.
“South Africa ‘A’ led by Jordan Hermann displayed resilience on Day 4 of the unofficial Test while chasing 417 runs. He is batting at 90 against Siraj, Prasidh, Kuldeep, and Akash Deep. Regardless of today’s outcome, Jordan Hermann has shown significant growth in South African cricket. He represents SR Eastern Cape in the SA 20,” Ashwin shared on his social media account.
Hermann’s innings concluded just shy of a century when Prasidh Krishna dismissed him through a caught and bowled, ending his composed and confident display. Despite missing the milestone, Hermann’s innings set the pace for South Africa A’s challenging pursuit and received widespread acclaim.
Meanwhile, South Africa successfully chased down the imposing target of 417 against India A on Day 4 in Bengaluru. Noteworthy contributions from Jordan Hermann (91), Lesego Senokwane (77), Zubayr Hamza (77), and Temba Bavuma
