South Africa A Stuns India A with 417-Run Chase Victory

South Africa A pulled off a remarkable victory against India A in the second unofficial Test match by successfully chasing down a daunting target of 417 runs on Day 4 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru. Key performances from Jordan Hermann (91), Lesego Senokwane (77), and Zubayr Hamza (77) led the South African team to victory against a strong Indian bowling lineup.

India A’s bowlers, including Mohammed Siraj (1/53), Akash Deep (1/106), Kuldeep Yadav (0/81), and Prasidh Krishna (2/49), faced intense pressure as the South African batsmen capitalized on favorable batting conditions.

The South African team got off to a solid start in their pursuit of 417 runs with openers Hermann and Senokwane putting up a partnership of 156 runs. Prasidh Krishna provided the breakthrough by dismissing Hermann, followed by Harsh Dubey removing Senokwane. Hamza and Bavuma then built a strong partnership frustrating the Indian bowlers further. However, India A fought back briefly with Siraj and Deep taking crucial wickets.

Despite some resistance from the Indian bowlers, South Africa A managed to secure a famous victory with Esterhuizen (52*) and van Vuuren (20*) guiding them over the finish line with three overs to spare. The South African team’s impressive win serves as a warning to the Indian Test team ahead of their upcoming series against the senior Proteas side starting on 14 November in Kolkata.

Captain Marques Ackerman was awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding century in the first innings. The match highlighted South Africa A’s strong form and ability to challenge formidable opponents.
