Xiaomi is set to introduce its upcoming smartphone in India after a brief period of quiet. The new phone, the Redmi 15C 5G, is positioned as an entry-level device with an expected price tag of approximately Rs 10,000. This model is anticipated to be more budget-friendly compared to the Redmi 15, which was Xiaomi’s previous release in India back in August 2025. Through a teaser shared on social media, the company hinted at a grand entrance into 2026 with phrases like “Prepare for the arrival of the supreme power, the ultimate evolution, the one true ruler of the segment.” The Redmi 15C 5G is scheduled to be launched in India on December 3.
A teaser image accompanying the announcement offers a glimpse of the upcoming Redmi 15C, resembling the model available in some European markets. While the 15C is not entirely new and has been around since at least September, it is making its way to India shortly after the Redmi 15’s launch. While Xiaomi offers a 4G variant of the Redmi 15C in certain regions, only the 5G version will be introduced in India for now.
Given that the phone is already accessible in other markets, we can anticipate its specifications and features based on global offerings. The European version of the Redmi 15C 5G boasts a 6.9-inch LCD display with a 720p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a waterdrop-style notch. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The device features a single 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera for photography, supported by a 6,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging capabilities. Notably, Xiaomi does not include a charger in the package for this model.
Compared to its predecessor, the Redmi 14C, the Redmi 15C showcases a redesigned look with vertically aligned cameras and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It is available in Midnight Black, Dusk Purple, and Mint Green color options and incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometric authentication.
In a competitive move, Realme is gearing up to unveil the Realme P4x in India on December 4, likely setting the stage for a showdown between the two brands. Realme’s offering appears to have a competitive advantage with features like the Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset and a larger 7,000mAh battery. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing smartphone rivalry.
