“IndiGo flight makes emergency landing after fuel leak”

An IndiGo flight traveling from Kolkata to Srinagar experienced a fuel leak, prompting an emergency landing at Varanasi airport. The incident occurred on Wednesday, with flight 6E-6961 carrying 166 passengers and crew. The aircraft landed safely at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at 4.10 pm, and all individuals on board were safely evacuated without any reported injuries.

Upon detecting the fuel leak, the pilot promptly notified Air Traffic Control, which cleared the aircraft for an emergency landing. The crew skillfully managed to bring the plane down on the runway under controlled conditions. An IndiGo spokesperson stated that the diversion to Varanasi was a precautionary measure due to a suspected technical issue.

Following the incident, IndiGo arranged an alternate flight for the passengers to resume their journey. The airline emphasized its commitment to prioritizing the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft, thanking customers for their understanding and cooperation during the situation.
