Tech mogul Elon Musk recently announced a groundbreaking initiative by Grok AI to analyze and personalize user feeds on the social platform X. Musk, who is the owner of X, stated that the AI technology will tailor feeds based on individual interests, potentially enhancing visibility for smaller accounts.
Responding to a user’s discontent about X’s recommendation algorithm, Musk assured that Grok AI will soon have the capability to comprehensively assess around 100 million daily posts on X. Musk emphasized that the AI will also be adept at understanding and processing photos and videos shared on the platform.
The primary objective of AI scanning users’ posts on X is to optimize content recommendations and customize user feeds. Musk highlighted that the AI will evaluate content based on its quality, thereby offering smaller accounts the opportunity to reach a wider audience.
While the implementation of AI processing offers significant benefits, it comes with a substantial cost. Musk noted that the utilization of advanced AI technology, requiring a significant number of GPUs, is essential for this initiative.
Elon Musk has set a target to roll out the personalized feed feature through Grok AI by the following month. In a prior appearance on the All-In Podcast, Musk hinted at the gradual progression of Grok scanning from 10 million posts to ultimately covering the entire daily post volume on X. He emphasized the AI’s ability to interpret, categorize, and match posts to users, highlighting the impracticality of humans performing these tasks.
The anticipated change in X’s algorithm, driven by Grok AI, holds particular significance for smaller accounts on the platform. X’s revenue-sharing program with creators could potentially benefit from the increased reach facilitated by Grok recommendations, offering smaller accounts the opportunity to generate revenue through the platform.
