Telangana Man’s Mysterious Death in South Africa Sparks Homicide Suspicions

A man hailing from Telangana, who had traveled to South Africa for employment, was discovered dead under unclear circumstances, bringing sorrow to his family on the eve of Diwali.

The individual, known as Battula Srinivas (32) from Bikkanur in Kamareddy district, had been employed as a borewell machine operator in South Africa for an extended period. His body was reportedly found hanging from a tree near his residence on Sunday.

However, suspicions of foul play arise within Srinivas’s family. They reviewed photographs from South Africa and claimed that Srinivas may have been violently killed, with the scene potentially staged to look like a suicide. The family asserted, “He was not inclined to end his own life; this appears to be a homicide.”

Srinivas had been working in South Africa for approximately five to six years and had returned to India about five months earlier before going back. He is survived by his wife Navaneetha, daughter Lasya, son Nihaal, and parents Balaram and Swaroopa.

Authorities in South Africa are said to be investigating the incident.
