“OnePlus Teases Budget-Friendly 15R Handset Launch”

OnePlus has initiated the debut of its upcoming lineup by introducing the OnePlus 15 in India. The company is now hinting at the release of its more budget-friendly yet feature-packed handset, the OnePlus 15R. Leaks suggest that the OnePlus 15R will essentially be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6T, scheduled for launch in China.

In terms of design and cameras, the OnePlus 15R is anticipated to feature a flat frame design along with a square camera module, resembling the OnePlus 15. In China, the device will be available in black, green, and violet color options. The camera setup is likely to comprise a dual rear camera system with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor. Unlike the OnePlus 13R, the OnePlus 15R is expected to lack a telephoto lens.

Despite the potential camera downgrade, the OnePlus 15R is set to outshine the OnePlus 15 in one aspect. If it mirrors the Ace 6T, it will boast a substantial 8,000mAh battery, surpassing the 7,300mAh battery found in the OnePlus 15. Additionally, the device is rumored to support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

For performance and specifications, the OnePlus 15R is projected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, making OnePlus the first to utilize this chipset. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is expected to deliver performance on par with last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. The OnePlus 15, also known as Ace 6T, sports a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate.

Other notable features include the customizable Plus key, allowing users to personalize it for various functions like silent mode, camera access, or activating the Plus Mind AI feature. This feature is likely to be carried over from the OnePlus 15. The OnePlus 15R is anticipated to receive IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, in addition to stereo speakers.

The OnePlus 15R is expected to launch before the year concludes. Details regarding the pricing are scarce, but considering the price increase of the OnePlus 15, the OnePlus 15R might be priced higher than the OnePlus 13R, which was initially priced at Rs 42,999 in India.
