“Rishabh Pant Overcomes Injury Scare, Shines in Test Match”

India’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant, faced an injury scare during the third day of the second official Test against South Africa A. Pant had to retire hurt in the first session after being hit on the left arm and near the groin by Tshepo Moreki’s deliveries. Despite the setback, Pant returned to bat in the third session after receiving medical attention and being replaced temporarily by Dhruv Jurel. The team physios closely monitored Pant, who expressed his desire to continue playing, but India A coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar decided it was best for him to walk off the field.

Pant later re-entered the game with his left arm heavily strapped and went on to score a remarkable half-century before being dismissed for 65 runs off 54 balls. Previously sidelined for three months due to a toe fracture, Pant made a stylish comeback in the first unofficial Test against South Africa A, scoring 90 runs off 113 balls with 11 fours and four sixes. He also showcased his agility behind the stumps, taking four catches.

Impressed by his performance, Rishabh Pant earned a spot in India’s Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against South Africa, commencing on November 14 in Kolkata. The squad includes players like Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant (WK), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and others.
