“Pakistan’s Army Chief Warns of Response to India Amid Afghan Border Clashes”

Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, recently resorted to anti-India rhetoric amid clashes with the Taliban along the Afghanistan border. Munir, speaking at the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Abbottabad, emphasized that there is no room for warfare in a nuclearized setting.

In his address, Munir, without specifically mentioning India, warned that even a minor provocation would trigger a decisive response from Pakistan. However, recent events, such as Operation Sindoor, showcased India’s military prowess in dismantling nine terrorist camps and striking 11 military bases deep within Pakistan.

Munir asserted that Pakistan would respond beyond expectations if hostilities were reignited, emphasizing the lethal capabilities of their weapon systems. He cautioned that any escalation in tensions would primarily fall on India, potentially leading to catastrophic outcomes for the region.

The Army Chief’s remarks come amidst internal criticism of Pakistan’s handling of security challenges along the Afghan border. Observers view Munir’s statements as an attempt to divert attention from domestic setbacks by reverting to a familiar anti-India narrative.

Additionally, Munir issued a warning to the Taliban regime, urging action against militant groups, particularly the TTP, operating from Afghan territory. He vowed to eliminate all proxies threatening Pakistan, following recent Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan post a brief ceasefire with Kabul.

Reiterating Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, Munir called on India to address core issues under international law and reaffirmed Islamabad’s support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He praised Pakistan’s armed forces for their professionalism and capabilities during recent conflicts with India, aiming to boost national morale post-Operation Sindoor.

Overall, Munir’s statements, though lacking substantial evidence, aimed to project confidence in Pakistan’s military strength and resilience in the face of challenges.
