Jaipur’s historic Nahargarh Fort is once again making headlines as the renowned Jaipur Wax Museum, situated within the fort, prepares to unveil a wax figure of Indian women’s cricket team captain, Harmanpreet Kaur. This statue will commemorate India’s significant Women’s World Cup triumph and is scheduled for a grand reveal on March 8, 2026 – International Women’s Day.
Anup Srivastava, the founder of the museum, emphasized that Harmanpreet’s wax figure will not only celebrate her sporting accomplishments but also stand as a symbol of courage, hard work, and confidence for women in India. He noted that the museum’s objective is not only to showcase prominent figures but also to pay tribute to those who inspire society, highlighting Harmanpreet’s demonstration that women are equally capable as men in all spheres.
With the addition of Harmanpreet’s statue, the Jaipur Wax Museum will feature two World Cup-winning captains – MS Dhoni from men’s cricket and Harmanpreet Kaur from women’s cricket. These figures will join the museum’s collection alongside cricketing icons like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, drawing large numbers of visitors.
This initiative not only appeals to cricket enthusiasts but also serves as a poignant homage to womanhood. The museum has previously honored several influential women, including Kalpana Chawla, Saina Nehwal, Mother Teresa, Rajmata Gayatri Devi, and Hadi Rani. Harmanpreet’s inclusion will enrich the museum’s narrative of women empowerment in contemporary India.
The construction of Harmanpreet’s statue is already in progress, capturing her appearance from the 2025 World Cup using cutting-edge technology to depict her confident expressions and dynamism with remarkable realism. With approximately 45 wax figures on display, showcasing members of Rajasthan’s royal lineage, national heroes, historical figures, and modern inspirations, the museum, housed in the Sheesh Mahal of Nahargarh Fort, is renowned for its exquisite interiors adorned with nearly 2.5 million glass fragments.
Harmanpreet Kaur’s statue not only signifies a noteworthy moment in cricket history but also stands as a significant milestone for Jaipur’s tourism and artistic landscape. It will serve as a lasting reminder to future generations that true triumph transcends the playing field and encompasses confidence, zeal, and national pride – embodying the essence of Harmanpreet’s legacy.
