Mohammed Shami Ready for National Team Comeback

Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami expressed his readiness to return to the national team, emphasizing his focus on maintaining fitness and readiness for any upcoming opportunities. Shami’s last appearance for India was during the Champions Trophy, after which he was not selected for subsequent assignments.

The fast bowler showcased outstanding form in the Ranji Trophy, delivering a five-wicket performance that aided Bengal in a significant victory over Gujarat. With figures of five for 38 in ten overs, Shami played a pivotal role in Bengal’s 141-run triumph. Acknowledging the role of luck in selection, Shami remains determined to consistently perform and leave the decision-making to the selectors.

Shami conveyed his optimism about his form returning and his desire to contribute substantially to the national team. Reflecting on his journey back from injury, Shami expressed relief at regaining his rhythm and confidence in his abilities to make valuable contributions to the team.

Despite previous controversies, particularly involving a public exchange with chief selector Ajit Agarkar, Shami has opted to avoid making contentious statements regarding his return to the Indian team. Looking ahead, Shami is gearing up for his upcoming match for Bengal against Tripura, scheduled to commence on November 1.
