A recent incident shared on Reddit highlighted the frustrating experience of a 2025 IT graduate from a Tier 3 Indian college during job interviews with WITCH companies – Wipro and HCL. The student, known online as u/not_so_retard, detailed delays and lack of communication in both interviews.
In the case of Wipro, the scheduled interview at 11 am only took place at 7 pm on the same day. Similarly, with HCLTech, the student spent an entire day on Microsoft Teams waiting for an interview update that never came.
The situation worsened when the individual, who had rushed from the hospital to attend the rescheduled interview, discovered it was canceled for the day. The student expressed frustration not only with the delays but also with the normalization of such occurrences among peers.
Commenters on the Reddit post advised that if interviewers fail to show up on time without notice, it may be best to move on or inform HR. Suggestions included dropping the call if the panel is late or walking out if interview procedures do not respect the candidate’s time.
The incident sheds light on the challenges faced by job seekers and the need for better communication and respect for candidates’ time during the recruitment process.
