Britain’s King Charles III has taken away all remaining royal titles, honors, and privileges from his younger brother, Prince Andrew, and has instructed him to leave his Windsor residence. This decision comes after a period of public pressure and renewed criticism regarding Prince Andrew’s connection with Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew, aged 65, has been embroiled in controversy since his association with Epstein came to light years ago. Recently, he voluntarily relinquished all his royal titles, including the “Duke of York” designation, with the approval of his brother.
Despite settling a civil lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual abuse when she was 17, Prince Andrew’s reputation remains tarnished. He maintained his innocence, stating that he had no recollection of meeting Giuffre.
A formal statement from Buckingham Palace confirms that King Charles III has stripped Prince Andrew of all remaining royal titles, honors, and privileges and has instructed him to vacate his Windsor residence. The communication states, “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the style, titles, and honors of Prince Andrew.”
According to the palace, Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and will no longer hold the title of Duke of York. Additionally, he will no longer reside at Royal Lodge, a 30-room mansion near Windsor Castle, as the lease has been terminated, and he will be relocating to a different private accommodation.
Despite Prince Andrew’s denial of the allegations against him, Buckingham Palace deemed these actions necessary. The statement emphasizes that the royal decision is based on moral grounds and expresses sympathy for abuse survivors.
During a recent public appearance at Lichfield Cathedral, King Charles faced criticism from a protester who questioned his knowledge of Prince Andrew’s involvement with Epstein and demanded transparency regarding any potential police involvement in covering up for Andrew.
