Wolvaardt stood out by topping the batting charts with 571 runs at an impressive average of 71.37, showcasing exceptional form with consecutive centuries in crucial matches. Smriti Mandhana closed the World Cup with 434 runs at an average of 54.25.
Deepti Sharma secured her spot with her outstanding all-around performance, scoring 215 runs and claiming 22 wickets, the highest in the tournament.
Despite leading India to victory and contributing 260 runs with the bat, Harmanpreet Kaur was not selected for the team. The selection panel, including Ian Bishop, Mel Jones, Isa Guha, Gaurav Saxena, and Estelle Vasudevan, finalized the XI.
The ICC Women’s World Cup Team of the Tournament features players from India, South Africa, and Australia, with three representatives from each team. South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp and Nadine de Klerk, along with Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, and Alana King, have earned their places. Pakistan’s Sidra Nawaz was chosen as the wicketkeeper, impressing with three catches and four stumpings.
