Figma, the popular design software favored by both creatives and developers, has officially opened its first office in India. The Silicon Valley-based company announced the launch of its Bengaluru office on November 12, solidifying the country’s position in its global expansion strategy. India now joins Singapore and Tokyo as key bases for Figma in the Asia-Pacific region, demonstrating the company’s commitment to engaging with its active user community outside the United States.
The decision to establish a presence in India aligns with Figma’s user statistics, as India stands as the company’s second-largest market worldwide. The country boasts millions of designers, developers, and product managers who utilize Figma’s intuitive interface and real-time collaboration tools to create a wide range of digital products, from fintech platforms to e-commerce applications.
Scott Pugh, Figma’s Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific, emphasized the significance of India’s evolving role in the software and manufacturing sectors. The company has commenced recruitment for local positions in sales, marketing, and engineering, indicating its commitment to the Indian market. Notably, over 40% of the top BSE 100 companies are already Figma customers, including prominent names like Flipkart, Myntra, TCS, Airtel, Zomato, and others.
For many businesses in India, Figma has become an essential tool for collaborative design work. Lakshminarayan Swaminathan, Vice President of Product Management and Design at Myntra, highlighted how Figma accelerates idea-to-product timelines and fosters innovative digital experiences, particularly in conjunction with AI technologies.
Founded in 2012 by Dylan Field and Evan Wallace, Figma initially revolutionized design collaboration with its browser-based platform. Over the years, Figma has expanded its offerings beyond UI/UX design, introducing new tools such as FigJam for brainstorming, Dev Mode for designer-developer collaboration, and Figma Make, an AI-powered prototyping tool.
Following its IPO in July 2025, Figma’s market value soared, reflecting strong revenue growth. The company’s recent earnings report for Q3 2025 revealed a 38% year-on-year revenue increase, surpassing $1 billion in annual revenue. With its reach extending to Fortune 500 companies globally and a diverse user base that includes non-design professionals, Figma’s expansion to Bengaluru underscores its commitment to fostering creativity and innovation within India’s design community.
