In Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao, a 14-year-old boy named Hrithik Yadav was reportedly kidnapped, physically assaulted, electrocuted, and fatally poisoned after an altercation involving a pet dog. The incident has triggered significant outrage, with local Samajwadi Party leader Rajesh Yadav joining demonstrators in demanding justice.
Reports suggest that Hrithik encountered a pet dog belonging to Vishambhar Tripathi while returning home after attending a Ram Katha event in a nearby village. Feeling threatened, Hrithik threw a stone at the dog and fled the scene.
The following day, Tripathi, accompanied by two associates and his younger son, allegedly abducted Hrithik from his residence, subjected him to physical abuse, forced him to lick Tripathi’s shoes, electrocuted him, and compelled him to ingest poison.
Hrithik fell ill upon returning home and was initially taken to the Unnao district hospital before being transferred to a private facility, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim’s mother, Asha, has accused the local law enforcement of apathy, asserting that Tripathi, the prime suspect, is a criminal who is manipulating the investigation through his influence.
In response to the incident, Samajwadi Party representative Rajesh Yadav intervened, pledging justice to the victim’s family. Yadav emphasized that if the authorities fail to act against the perpetrators, he will escalate the matter to the party’s National President, Akhilesh Yadav, for parliamentary discussion.
On the police front, senior officer Deepak Yadav confirmed the registration of a case based on the family’s complaints and disclosed that the deceased’s body has been forwarded for post-mortem examination, with ongoing investigative efforts.
The tragic event has stirred public outcry and calls for accountability as the community awaits further developments in the case.
