Fresh tension erupted along the Line of Control (LoC) late on Monday night, as firing and explosions were reported from two areas in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district — specifically the Machil and Dudniyal sectors — indicating a potential infiltration attempt. Security forces have successfully neutralized two terrorists in the operation.
Sources revealed that the military detected suspicious movements near the Machil LoC, prompting an immediate response. “The army engaged with the suspected infiltrators, resulting in an exchange of gunfire,” sources disclosed.
Simultaneously, in another incident, multiple explosions were heard in the Dudniyal sector, raising concerns of a coordinated infiltration strategy. “Flares were deployed to illuminate the area and monitor any cross-border movements,” a source confirmed.
These incidents occurred amidst heightened vigilance along the LoC in response to recent ceasefire breaches and an uptick in militant activities across the border. Counter operations are currently ongoing.
