A tragic incident unfolded at Janakadeipur railway station in Odisha’s Puri district as a young boy lost his life to a speeding train while recording an Instagram reel on Tuesday. The boy, hailing from Manglaghat, had accompanied his mother to Dakshinakali Temple earlier that day and the fatal accident occurred during their return journey.
Eyewitnesses reported that the boy was standing perilously close to the railway tracks, attempting to film a short video on his mobile phone, when the train unexpectedly struck him. The impact of the collision was fatal, resulting in his immediate death.
Promptly, railway staff and local residents responded to the scene, with Government Railway Police (GRP) officials arriving to retrieve the body and transport it to a nearby hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Initial investigations point to the teenager’s negligence while filming a social media video near the railway tracks, disregarding safety precautions, as the cause of the tragic accident.
