Star Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has been nominated for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 awards. The ICC recently revealed the list of nominees, which includes Mandhana alongside Laura Wolvaardt, Alana King, Alyssa Healy, Ash Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Nadine de Klerk, Deepti Sharma, and Heather Knight.

Mandhana excelled in the tournament, leading the run charts with standout performances, including a remarkable century against New Zealand. She also impressed with scores of 80 against Australia and 88 against England.

Having scored five ODI hundreds this year, Mandhana remains a key player for India as they head into the knockout stage. She matched the record for the most Women’s ODI hundreds in a calendar year and became the first to surpass 1,000 runs in a single year.

Deepti Sharma showcased her all-round talent with two half-centuries and a four-wicket haul against England. She joined an elite group of women cricketers, including Marizanne Kapp, Ellyse Perry, and Stafanie Taylor, by achieving the milestone of 2500 runs and 150 wickets in ODIs.

In other standout performances, Laura Wolvaardt played a pivotal role for South Africa with consistent batting displays, crossing the 300-run mark in the tournament. Alana King set a new record with figures of 7/18 against South Africa, the best in Women’s World Cup history. Alyssa Healy and Ash Gardner also made significant contributions with impressive innings for Australia.

Annabel Sutherland showcased her skills with both bat and ball, while Nadine de Klerk’s lower-order hitting proved crucial for South Africa. England’s Heather Knight led by example with a century against India and a match-winning 79 not out against Bangladesh.

The performances of these talented cricketers have added excitement to the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, promising an intense and competitive tournament ahead.
