Pensioners nationwide are reminded to complete their annual Life Certificate, known as the Jeevan Pramaan Patra, before the November 30 deadline to avoid any disruptions in their monthly pension payments. This verification process is mandatory for both central and state government pensioners. The Life Certificate can be submitted either in person or through the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) system, which offers an online submission option.
It is crucial for pensioners to provide their Pension Payment Order (PPO) number, Aadhaar number, bank account information, and the mobile number linked to Aadhaar when submitting the certificate. Failure to submit the Life Certificate by the deadline will result in the suspension of pension payments until the necessary documentation is provided to a Central Pension Processing Centre (CPPC) for verification.
Pensioners have various options to submit their Life Certificates, including local bank branches, post offices, India Post Payments Bank, Railways, CGDA, DoT, UIDAI, and Pensioners’ Welfare Associations. Major banks such as SBI, PNB, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, and Bank of Baroda accept Life Certificates, making it convenient for pensioners to fulfill this requirement.
For those who prefer a digital approach, the Digital Life Certificate process streamlines the submission process. By linking their Aadhaar details with their pension authority and using the ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ and ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’, pensioners can submit their information online and receive the certificate via a download link sent to their registered mobile number.
After submission, pensioners will receive a transaction ID via SMS and can monitor the status of their certificate on the official portal. Checking the status is essential to address any rejections promptly and resubmit if necessary. Adhering to this annual verification ensures that pensioners receive their monthly payments without any interruptions.
It is advised for pensioners to complete this process promptly as there has been no extension announced this year. Time is of the essence to avoid any payment delays or disruptions.
