OnePlus has unveiled the Ace 6T in China, making it the first smartphone to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The Ace 6T is set to be launched in India under the name OnePlus 15R. This device not only surpasses its predecessor but also outperforms the flagship OnePlus 15 in a key aspect.
A standout feature of the OnePlus Ace 6T is its impressive 8,300mAh battery, one of the largest in a high-performance flagship phone. It adopts a high-density silicon-carbon anode design and supports 100W wired fast charging, enabling a 50% charge in just 23 minutes. In comparison, the OnePlus 15 features a 7,300mAh battery.
The OnePlus Ace 6T introduces Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, manufactured on a 3nm process. The OnePlus 15R will be the first model to bring this cutting-edge chipset to global markets. Additionally, it incorporates a proprietary G2 network chip, a custom display chip, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The device boasts an AnTuTu score of approximately 3.56 million, closely trailing the latest flagships powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
The Ace 6T sports a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and adaptive refresh rates up to 165Hz. It features 10-bit color, full DCI-P3 coverage, and a peak brightness of 3,600 nits. Gamers will appreciate the 3200Hz touch sampling rate and a custom Lingxi touch chip for reduced input lag. The OnePlus 15R is expected to maintain identical display specifications.
Camera-wise, the Ace 6T boasts a dual setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 primary sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the rear, along with a 16-megapixel front camera. The device prioritizes gaming, equipped with a Glacier cooling system comprising a vapor chamber and layered graphite for effective heat management.
Other features of the Ace 6T include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, IP66/68/69/69K dust and water resistance, and Android 16 with ColorOS 16. It comes in Phantom Green, Electric Purple, and Flash Black color options, with a special Genshin Impact Kamisato Ayaka Limited Edition. It remains uncertain if the OnePlus 15R will offer this edition globally.
The OnePlus Ace 6T is priced starting at 2,599 yuan (about Rs 33,230) for the 12GB/256GB model, going up to 3,899 yuan (approximately Rs 49,850) for the 16GB/1TB variant. Details on the pricing of the OnePlus 15R in India are limited, with the device set to go on sale on December 17. Its predecessor, the OnePlus 13R, was launched at Rs 42,999.
