The upcoming OnePlus 15R is set to debut later this month, featuring a robust 7,400mAh battery, surpassing the OnePlus 15’s 7,300mAh capacity. Despite earlier speculations of an 8,300mAh battery, OnePlus has confirmed this slightly smaller size for the device.
OnePlus emphasizes that the 7,400mAh battery in the OnePlus 15R is the largest ever integrated into their smartphones, catering to users seeking extended device longevity, especially for activities like gaming, video streaming, and productivity on the go. The company positions the OnePlus 15R as a device designed for continuous usage without interruptions.
Initially rumored to possibly sport an 8,300mAh battery, based on similarities to the OnePlus Ace 6T available in China, the OnePlus 15R now boasts a battery utilizing Silicon Nanostack technology with a 15% silicon content in the anode. This innovative design promises higher energy density and is engineered to retain at least 80% of its capacity after four years of usage, alongside 80W fast charging support.
In addition to the impressive battery, the OnePlus 15R will feature a high-end 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, similar to the OnePlus 15. This display offers up to 1,800 nits of brightness and adjustable settings for lighting conditions, with TV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification for reduced eye strain.
The device’s camera is capable of recording 120fps 4K videos, a feature previously exclusive to the OnePlus 15, and is expected to include a dual rear camera setup. Powering the performance is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile platform, a chipset co-optimized with Qualcomm over a 24-month period, making the OnePlus 15R the first globally launched smartphone with this processor.
The OnePlus 15R and OnePlus Pad Go 2 are scheduled for a joint unveiling at a livestreamed event in Bengaluru, India, on December 17, 2025. While pricing details for the OnePlus 15R are yet to be disclosed, speculations suggest it may align with the launch price of the OnePlus 13R in India at Rs 42,999.
