The Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) has made headlines with a significant purchase of 190 luxury cars valued between Rs 50 lakh and 1.5 crore. This bulk acquisition resulted in savings of Rs 21.5 crore for the members, as top luxury brands like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes offered substantial discounts.
While the cars were acquired nationwide, a large portion of the buyers, specifically 30 out of the 190 cars, were from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This collective purchase showcases the strength of unity within the Jain community, which established the trade organisation in 2007 to boost economic empowerment nationwide. The launch of the J Point Platform three years ago aimed to streamline sales and purchases within the community.
Nitin Jain, the chairman of J Point, highlighted the recent purchase, stating, “Our members have acquired 190 BMW, Audi, and Mercedes cars in bulk deals, receiving a remarkable Rs 21.5 crore discount.” Amit Shah, the convenor of J Point Platform, emphasized the mutual benefits between the platform and JITO, enabling thousands of members to access discounts on various items like cars and electronics.
With over 30,000 members nationwide, including 5,000 from Gujarat, the organisation focuses on community-based purchasing to cater to individual needs. Prakshal Shah, the Co-Convenor, mentioned ongoing discussions for bulk deals on more than 15 products. Membership fees range from Rs 2 lakh to 20 lakh, granting access to exclusive bulk deals for the members.
