Star India cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues showcased her iconic guitar celebration after her outstanding performance against Australia in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 semi-final. Rodrigues played a remarkable unbeaten innings of 127 runs off 134 balls, leading India to successfully chase down a historic total of 339 runs in women’s cricket history.

Post-match, an emotional Rodrigues received cheers from her teammates during the presentation. The 25-year-old, known for her guitar celebration, also shared a motivational message from the dressing room emphasizing the team’s determination to defend their home ground and maintain their dominance by playing exceptional cricket.

In a video released by the BCCI, Rodrigues expressed, “We spoke about it in the dressing room. This is our ground, we can’t let anyone come and take whatever they want from here. It’s our home, we want to dominate here and we just want to play good cricket.”

Rodrigues partnered with captain Harmanpreet Kaur in a crucial 167-run alliance for the second wicket, stabilizing India’s innings after an initial setback at 59/2 in 9.2 overs. Following Kaur’s dismissal for 89 runs off 88 balls, Rodrigues built key partnerships with Deepti Sharma (24 off 17), Richa Ghosh (26 off 16), and Amanjot Kaur (15* off 8) to guide India to victory.

Earlier in the match, Phoebe Litchfield’s impressive 119 runs off 93 balls powered Australia to a formidable total of 338 runs. Litchfield combined with Ellyse Perry (77 off 88) in a significant 155-run partnership off 133 balls. The Indian bowlers, Shree Charani (2/49) and Deepti Sharma (2/73), made crucial contributions in the death overs to restrict Australia’s scoring.

India’s victory secured their place in the Women’s World Cup final for the third time. They are set to face South Africa on November 2 in Navi Mumbai.
