“Hinge Founder Justin McLeod Steps Down to Launch AI Dating Platform Overtone”

Justin McLeod, the creator of Hinge, is resigning as CEO after close to 15 years to establish a novel AI-driven dating platform named Overtone. This decision signifies a significant change for both McLeod and Match Group, the parent company of Hinge and a supporter of the new project.

In a recent post on LinkedIn, McLeod expressed his readiness to embark on a fresh venture inspired by evolving trends. He announced that Jackie Jantos, the current President and CMO of Hinge, will assume the role of CEO.

McLeod emphasized that the Hinge team is now more robust than ever and will persist in pursuing its mission under new leadership.

Match Group disclosed that it is providing initial funding for Overtone, focusing on AI-driven matchmaking services, as reported by various media outlets. The company described Overtone as a nascent dating platform leveraging AI and voice technologies to facilitate more meaningful and individualized connections.

Overtone, according to McLeod, aims to enable individuals to forge genuine, enduring relationships in a societal context that often steers us in the opposite direction. The platform’s objective is to offer a more intimate, supportive experience aligned with contemporary dating preferences.
