“Apple to Launch iPhone 17e with Enhanced Features in 2026”

Apple is gearing up for a busy 2026 with the potential launch of its next budget-friendly iPhone, the iPhone 17e. According to a recent report by Jeff Pu of GF Securities, the tech giant is set to introduce the iPhone 17e early in 2026, following the release of the iPhone 16e this year. The “e” series, which replaced Apple’s SE lineup, aims to offer top-tier performance at a more affordable price point.

Pu’s findings, as reported by MacRumors, support earlier speculations indicating that the iPhone 17e will see significant improvements and hit the market before the flagship iPhone 18 series later in the year. This move could help Apple reestablish its presence in the budget smartphone segment, where the iPhone 16e fell short of expectations.

Expected to be powered by Apple’s A19 chip, the iPhone 17e will share the same processor as the base iPhone 17. In contrast, the premium A20 and A20 Pro chips are reserved for the upcoming iPhone 18 series slated for 2026. Pu also mentions that the device will feature an 18-megapixel front camera with Centre Stage support, mirroring the setup on the iPhone 17.

In terms of connectivity, Apple is set to upgrade to its C1 modem for the iPhone 17e, while newer models like the forthcoming iPhone Air will shift to the faster C1X 5G modem. Additionally, Apple is developing a C2 modem, though its release is not expected until 2027.

Rumors suggest that the iPhone 17e may incorporate Apple’s N1 wireless chip, promising enhanced power efficiency and faster, more reliable peer-to-peer transfers. This advancement should result in smoother AirDrop-style sharing and extended battery life.

Design-wise, Apple is anticipated to depart from the traditional notch seen on the 16e, introducing the sleeker Dynamic Island cut-out to its budget offering for the first time. Other specifications are likely to remain similar to the iPhone 16e, striking a balance between cost-effectiveness and modern aesthetics.

Pu indicates that the iPhone 17e is projected to debut in spring 2026, potentially alongside two other devices targeting the value segment: a low-cost MacBook and an updated 12th-generation iPad.

In addition to the iPhone 17e, Apple is reportedly preparing an entry-level MacBook tailored for students and first-time buyers. The laptop is rumored to sport a 13-inch display and utilize the A18 Pro chip from the iPhone 16 Pro models. It could be available in playful colors, echoing the iPad lineup.

The anticipated price range for the MacBook is between $699 and $899, with potential trade-offs in hardware quality at that price point. On the other hand, the upcoming 12th-generation iPad is expected to retain its familiar design but receive a performance boost from the A18 chip, enabling access to Apple Intelligence features for the first time.

Additionally, there are hints of Apple adopting a split-launch approach for its iPhones moving forward. The Pro models may debut in the latter half of the year, while the base iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 could arrive in early 2027.

Pu concludes on a positive note, assuring Apple investors that the company’s strong procurement power should shield it from the impact of fluctuating DDR memory prices throughout 2026.

With the impending release of the iPhone 17e, Apple appears poised to invigorate its budget lineup by combining flagship performance, a revamped design, and enhanced connectivity. If the speculations materialize, 2026 might be the year that Apple’s “e” series truly shines.
