US President Donald Trump revealed the revamped Lincoln Bathroom at the White House on Friday, emphasizing the restoration of historical accuracy. Trump showcased the transformation with before-and-after images on Truth Social, stating that the previous 1940s art deco green tile design did not align with the Lincoln Era.
The President mentioned that he opted for black and white polished statuary marble to replace the outdated green tiles, a choice he believed resonated well with the time of Abraham Lincoln. Trump even suggested that the new marble could potentially match the original material used during Lincoln’s era.
This renovation comes shortly after the completion of the president’s ballroom construction project, which involved the demolition of the East Wing despite prior claims that it would not impact the existing structure. Trump later shared additional views of the renovated bathroom, showcasing the marble finish, gold fixtures, and what he described as a presidential aesthetic that pays homage to Lincoln’s legacy.
The Lincoln Bathroom, situated adjacent to one of the most iconic rooms in the White House, last underwent remodeling in the 1940s under the Truman administration during a period of significant structural enhancements.
