“BJP Booth President Expelled Over Farmer’s Tragic Death”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has removed its booth president in Guna district, Mahendra Nagar, from his position due to his alleged involvement in the tragic death of a farmer in Fatehgarh area, Madhya Pradesh.

Nagar, who is currently missing, is accused of killing local farmer Ram Swaroop Dhakad and attacking his daughters. The expulsion decision was announced on Monday by BJP’s Guna district president Dharmendra Singh Sikarwar, citing Nagar’s behavior as “unbecoming of a party member” and a breach of party discipline.

The expulsion was carried out promptly following the seriousness of the criminal incident in a family dispute, as per the directives of the state leadership.

Regarding the incident, it occurred in Ganeshpura village while Dhakad was heading to his field with his wife. Nagar and his associates reportedly intercepted him, assaulted him with sticks and rods, and then ran a Thar jeep over him. The victim’s family alleges that Nagar had been pressuring small landowners in the area to sell their lands, and the attack ensued when Dhakad refused to comply.

Dhakad’s daughter recounted the harrowing experience, stating that she tried to rescue her father but was also attacked, including being shot at. The assault reportedly lasted for about an hour, preventing the family from promptly seeking medical help for Dhakad, who later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

An FIR has been lodged against Nagar, three female family members, and 14 others on charges of murder, assault, and criminal conspiracy. Police are actively pursuing the accused, with statements from the victim’s family recorded and search operations ongoing.

In response to the incident, Congress MLA from Bamori, Rishi Agrawal, criticized the state government for the prevailing lawlessness in Madhya Pradesh, attributing it to the Chief Minister’s failure to maintain order. Allegations surfaced from locals accusing Nagar of coercing small farmers to sell their lands at below-market rates, causing several families to leave the village due to his intimidation tactics.
