Anvay Dravid, the son of the renowned batsman Rahul Dravid, has been selected to play in one of the four teams participating in the Men’s U19 One-Day Challenger Trophy commencing in Hyderabad this Wednesday.
Anvay, who excels as a top-order batsman and wicketkeeper, will be part of Team C in the tournament, which serves as a crucial platform for budding Indian cricketers to display their talent.
At just 17 years old, Anvay has emerged as one of Karnataka’s most promising talents, showcasing impressive performances at various age-group levels. In the Vijay Merchant Trophy (U16) last season, he stood out by leading the state’s run charts with 459 runs in six matches at an outstanding average of 91.80, including two centuries and an unbeaten hundred.
Moreover, Anvay recently showcased his leadership and batting prowess by captaining Karnataka in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, a U19 one-day tournament.
His older brother, Samit Dravid, has also represented Karnataka as a top-order batsman in the Maharaja T20 KSCA Trophy.
The Junior Selection Committee, as per a BCCI announcement, has finalized the teams for the upcoming IDFC First Bank Men’s U19 One-Day Challenger Trophy scheduled to take place in Hyderabad from November 5-11, 2025.
Team C, under the leadership of Aaron George, will kick off their campaign against Team B, led by Vedant Trivedi, this Friday.
