“Nvidia CEO Urges Embracing AI for Growth”

Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, is urging employees to fully incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into all aspects of their work, emphasizing its role as an empowering tool rather than a threat. Huang’s directive is clear: embrace AI rather than fear it. In response to reports of some managers discouraging AI usage, Huang expressed strong disapproval, stating, “My understanding is Nvidia has some managers who are telling their people to use less AI. Are you insane?” He emphasized the importance of automating tasks with AI to ensure a productive workload for employees.

Huang specifically encouraged Nvidia’s engineers to utilize AI-powered coding tools like Cursor to enhance efficiency. He advised persistence in using these tools and contributing to their improvement, highlighting the potential for employees to actively shape technology advancements.

This focus on an AI-first approach aligns with the trend among tech giants like Google and Microsoft, where approximately 30% of new code is AI-generated. Companies like Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon are even considering evaluating employees based on their AI tool proficiency. Amazon, for instance, recommended its staff to switch to an in-house AI coding tool, Kiro, indicating a broader industry shift towards automation integration.

Despite concerns about job displacement due to automation, Huang remains optimistic that AI will augment human work rather than replace it. He asserts that AI will transform job roles rather than eliminate them, emphasizing the importance of leveraging AI to enhance productivity and create more opportunities. Nvidia’s significant investment in automation has led to substantial hiring, with the company expanding its workforce from 29,600 employees in fiscal 2024 to 36,000 by the end of fiscal 2025.

Huang’s unwavering belief in AI as a catalyst for Nvidia’s growth underscores the company’s commitment to innovation in the chip industry. He emphasizes that those who embrace AI will thrive in this evolving landscape, while those resistant to change risk falling behind.
