In Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu, a member of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) tragically took his own life, leaving behind a note holding former DMK Minister Senthil Balaji and the police accountable for the Karur stampede that resulted in the loss of 41 lives during Vijay’s campaign.
The deceased, identified as Ayyappan, aged 51 and a TVK member, had recently visited his elderly parents in Mayilam village. He was discovered hanging in a room on Monday by his mother, Muniyammal, who promptly alerted others. Subsequently, the Senji Police were notified.
A handwritten letter found at the scene indicated, “During Vijay’s visit to Karur, there was a lack of adequate police protection. Vijay’s supporters acted responsibly. The unfortunate incident was a result of Senthil Balaji’s actions, with police involvement. Swift arrest and imprisonment of Senthil Balaji is warranted.”
Ayyappan’s body was transported to Mundiyambakkam Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
