Samsung has unveiled its 2026 roadmap, revealing plans for six upcoming premium smartphones. The leaked information suggests that the company is working on new models in its Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series. Specifically, model numbers SM-S942, SM-S947, and SM-S948 are expected to represent the Galaxy S26, a mid-tier S26 variant, and the high-end Galaxy S26 Ultra.
There is speculation surrounding the naming of the mid-tier device, with questions arising about whether Samsung will stick with the “Edge” branding or revert to the more traditional “Plus” branding. The absence of a specific mention of an S26 Edge in the leaked list, coupled with past trends, indicates that Samsung may have opted to discontinue it due to lower sales.
In addition to the S-series, Samsung is also working on the next generation of foldable phones. Model numbers SM-F971, SM-F776, and SM-F976 are expected to belong to the Galaxy Z Flip 8 FE, the standard Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the Galaxy Z Fold 8, respectively. The inclusion of an FE-branded foldable suggests Samsung’s commitment to offering more affordable options to attract new buyers to the foldable market.
Notably absent from the leaked lineup is a successor to Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold smartphone, which is set to launch soon. It is speculated that Samsung may be gauging demand before introducing a second-generation model. The company’s future plans in the ultra-premium segment are still being finalized.
There are also hints of a new slim smartphone in development, distinct from the cancelled S26 Edge model. As Samsung’s development progresses, more details about additional models may come to light.
