Samsung is actively developing its first triple-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Trifold. The release of the Trifold was postponed by the Korean tech giant last month, but according to Bloomberg, Samsung is set to unveil this groundbreaking device in South Korea later this month.
The Galaxy Trifold is expected to be showcased at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, offering a significant platform with key world leaders and dignitaries in attendance. Attendees are unlikely to have hands-on experience with the device as Samsung plans to keep it on display under glass.
Featuring a substantial 10-inch OLED inner display that folds inwards on both ends to protect delicate creases, the Galaxy Trifold is also rumored to include a 6.5-inch outer display. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the device is anticipated to sport a 200-megapixel main sensor within a triple camera setup and a unique three-part battery design to maximize capacity.
Samsung, a pioneer in foldable technology since the original Galaxy Fold in 2019, is now gearing up to compete with Huawei in the triple-folding market. The Galaxy Trifold is expected to hit the market before the end of 2025, potentially with a broader international release beyond China and South Korea.
The estimated price of the Galaxy Trifold is around $3,000 (approximately Rs 2,64,000), positioning it in a competitive market against Huawei’s Mate XTs. While the exact availability in India remains uncertain, reports suggest a wider release strategy for the innovative device.
