Realme has officially unveiled the GT 8 Pro in China, showcasing its standout feature – the Ricoh-tuned 50-megapixel main camera within its triple rear camera setup. What distinguishes the GT 8 Pro is its innovative design, allowing users to customize their camera islands for a personalized touch. The smartphone is driven by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Extreme Edition chipset, accompanied by configurations of up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
One of the key highlights of the Realme GT 8 Pro is its revolutionary approach to smartphone design. The interchangeable camera module is secured by two Torx screws and magnetic guidance for effortless swapping. Realme intends to offer various camera island designs including square, round, and even robot-themed options through its official stores. Moreover, the company has launched a creative competition where individuals can submit their 3D-printed designs, facilitated by the release of a 3mf model file in partnership with MakerWorld.
The triple camera setup on the GT 8 Pro is a result of Realme’s collaboration with Ricoh. The primary 50-megapixel camera, tuned by Ricoh, sports a 1/1.56-inch sensor and an f/1.8 aperture lens. It supports Ricoh GR’s signature focal lengths and five classic Ricoh GR tones. Accompanying this main camera is a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom and up to 12x lossless zoom, as well as a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera providing a wide 116-degree field of view.
Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Extreme Edition chipset, the Realme GT 8 Pro offers configurations of up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. The device features Realme’s custom R1 graphics chip for an enhanced gaming experience. Despite housing a sizable 7,000mAh battery, the GT 8 Pro maintains a slim profile of 8.2mm, thinner than its predecessor. It supports rapid 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The smartphone runs on Realme UI 7 based on Android 16 and is available in White, Green, and Blue color variants.
The GT 8 Pro boasts a large 6.78-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. With a typical brightness of 2,000 nits and peak brightness reaching 4,000 nits in localized areas, the display is both vivid and durable, holding IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications for dust and water resistance.
Realme has priced the GT 8 Pro starting from CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 49,400) for the 12GB/256GB variant, going up to CNY 5,199 (around Rs 64,200) for the top-tier 16GB/1TB model. Pre-orders are currently open in China, with availability in other regions and details regarding an India launch yet to be disclosed.
