Following the emergence of a video showing their involvement in revelry at the birthday celebration of a notorious individual, four police officers, including an outpost chief in Ghaziabad, have been relieved of their duties.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Sahibabad police station, specifically at the Seemapuri outpost. As reported by authorities, outpost leader Ashish Jadaun and constables Amit, Yogesh, and Gyanendra were present at the late-night festivity honoring history-sheeter Irshad Malik at the “Rose Bar.” The gathering lasted from midnight until 2:30 am.
Videos from the event quickly spread on social media, depicting the officers holding beer bottles and dancing with female performers from the bar. Footage also captured scenes of alcohol containers, music, and merrymaking.
In response to the viral clips, Nimish Patil, a senior police official in the Trans-Hindon area, promptly suspended the four officers pending an investigation. Officials mentioned that footage from the bar’s CCTV cameras is being reviewed to uncover all aspects of the incident.
An internal inquiry into the matter is currently in progress.
