A man aged 34 lost his life in Bihar’s Saran district on Wednesday night after being fatally stabbed by unidentified individuals, marking the second homicide in the area in less than 24 hours, according to the police. The victim, identified as Sonu Kumar and a resident of Amanour Harnaryan, succumbed to his injuries inflicted by the stabbing.
Reports suggest that the incident took place when Sonu Kumar was lured out of his residence by an acquaintance, with the details of their interaction remaining unclear.
Following the attack, Sonu Kumar was swiftly taken to the Amanour Community Health Centre with severe stab wounds for urgent medical attention.
Witnesses reported that the assailants fled the scene promptly after the attack. Law enforcement authorities took charge of the body and arranged for a post-mortem examination at Chhapra Sadar Hospital.
During the investigation, Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar, who visited the hospital, indicated that the murder seemed to have originated from a personal dispute. The police are actively pursuing leads based on information provided by the victim’s family to track down the perpetrators.
Sonu Kumar’s younger brother, Manu Kumar, informed the police that Sonu was summoned by a person named Vikas, who is part of an orchestra performing in women’s attire, along with others. Allegedly, a financial disagreement between Sonu and these individuals may have escalated into the tragic incident, given past disputes over money. Manu also mentioned that his brother had only been married for a year.
Authorities highlighted that this recent homicide occurred shortly after another killing in the Revilganj police station area of Saran district, where the suspect was swiftly apprehended within two hours of the crime. The ongoing investigation has placed additional pressure on local law enforcement to enhance crime prevention measures.
