Actor Shreya Chaudhry, who is basking in the success of Bandish Bandits, recently opened up about her inspirations and dream collaborators in the film industry. Speaking to India Today Digital, she called herself a die-hard Shah Rukh Khan fan. She praised the superstar for his work and his off-screen personality.
Talking about her admiration for SRK, Shreya said, “I am a huge Shah Rukh Khan fan, I just love the man. He has left such an incredible impact on generations—not just through his performances as an actor but also as a human being. I don’t think anyone comes close to the kind of intellect and wit he brings to the table.”
She further added, “All of us always focus on how we have to be good at our work and focus on being good actors or being good at whatever we are doing. But I think it’s very important to be an all-rounded human being. For that, it’s important to be well-read and SRK can have a conversation with anyone about anything. In that way, he’s the perfect role model to have for all of us.”
While expressing her admiration for King Khan, Shreya expressed her fondness for actors Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt, Taapsee Pannu, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma. She said, “Hrithik is someone who has truly influenced me. Also, a lot of actresses – I love Alia and Taapsee’s work.”
Talking about her role models, Shreya said, “For me, it’s not about one single role model. It’s about finding inspiration in different people and their stories. I randomly watch an interview, film, or show and get inspired. Look at Jaideep and Vijay’s journeys; if I can get excited to learn more by just an interview or a performance, that person becomes a role model in that moment for me. So all of these people, their journeys are absolutely beautiful, and I really look up to all of them.”
When it comes to filmmakers, Shreya shared a long list of names she dreams of working with. “Some of the people who inspired me to become an actor are filmmakers like Imtiaz Ali and Rajkumar Hirani sir. I’m also a huge fan of SS Rajamouli—like all of us are! Hansal Mehta is another filmmaker whose work I deeply admire, and I really hope I get to work with him someday. Vikramaditya Motwane is also on my list of dream collaborators,” she said.
There are two more names which hold a special place in Shreya’s heart – Aditya Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. Expressing her admiration, she said, “It’s my dream to be directed by Aditya Chopra. As for Farhan Akhtar, I think he’s phenomenal—not just as an actor but also as a filmmaker. He made one of my all-time favourite Hindi films, Dil Chahta Hai. It would be amazing to be directed by him someday. I’m putting this out into the universe as a manifestation.”
On the work front, Shreya Chaudhry is gearing up for the release of The Mehta Boys which is set to release on February 7. It marks actor Boman Irani’s directorial debut. The film will stream on Prime Video.
