On October 8, Dhoni shared on social media that he has officially become a licensed drone pilot. Garuda Aerospace, a prominent drone manufacturer in India, confirmed that Dhoni completed his drone pilot training at their DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organization in Chennai.
Garuda Aerospace, with a track record of training over 2,500 aspiring pilots under expert guidance, praised Dhoni for his dedication. Agnishwar Jayaprakash, the Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, expressed his admiration for Dhoni’s swift learning and unwavering commitment to advancing the drone industry.
In a tweet, Garuda Aerospace celebrated Dhoni’s achievement, highlighting his role in driving the next generation of drone pilots. Dhoni’s involvement in activities beyond cricket is well-documented, including his honorary rank as Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army’s Parachute Regiment (106 Para TA Battalion) and his recent endeavors in the armed forces.
Post his retirement from international cricket in 2020, Dhoni has maintained his leadership role in the Indian Premier League with the Chennai Super Kings. Off the field, he has diversified his interests, from agriculture and vintage cars to golf and badminton.
