“Amazon Prime Launches ‘Add to Delivery’ Feature for Easy Shopping”

Amazon has introduced a new feature called “Add to Delivery” for its Prime members, enabling customers to add items to an existing order before it ships. This move is part of Amazon’s efforts to enhance shopping convenience for its users.

Previously, customers had to create a new order to add more items after placing an order on Amazon. With the introduction of Add to Delivery, the process has been simplified. Eligible items can now be added to a scheduled delivery without the need for extra steps, saving time and effort for shoppers who may forget to include necessary items in their orders.

The feature is currently available exclusively for US users through the Amazon app or mobile browser. It is limited to select product categories such as electronics, clothing, books, and groceries. Items eligible for this feature display a blue “Add to Delivery” button on their detail page, located below the standard “Add to Cart” button. Users can easily add items to their upcoming delivery by tapping this button and can quickly undo accidental selections if needed.

Amazon has been testing Add to Delivery with a group of Prime members and is now rolling it out more widely. The feature is designed to align with customers’ shopping habits, allowing them to fulfill immediate needs without waiting for their next order.

Users can utilize this feature for deliveries scheduled for the same or next day, depending on availability. Adding items to a scheduled delivery does not result in additional shipping charges. However, access to Add to Delivery requires an active Amazon Prime membership, which is priced at $14.99 per month or $139 per year in the US.

For frequent online shoppers, Add to Delivery addresses the common issue of forgetting items in an order and having to go through the checkout process again. This feature enables shoppers to quickly add forgotten products to their upcoming deliveries, ensuring they receive everything they need in a single shipment. The timeline for expanding this feature to other countries like India is currently unknown.
