Advocate Throws Shoe at Chief Justice during Court Session

In an unexpected turn of events during a routine Supreme Court session on Monday, senior advocate Rakesh Kishore threw a shoe towards Chief Justice of India BR Gavai. Fortunately, the Chief Justice was unharmed as the shoe fell short of its target.

Despite the incident, Chief Justice Gavai remained composed and stated that such actions did not affect him, proceeding with the hearing as scheduled. As Kishore was being escorted out, he vehemently expressed, “India will not tolerate the insult of Sanatan Dharma.”

This incident occurred shortly after Chief Justice Gavai faced backlash for his remarks during a previous hearing related to a damaged Vishnu idol in the Khajuraho complex in Madhya Pradesh.

Reports indicate that Kishore, a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association residing in Delhi’s Mayur Vihar area, holds memberships in various bar associations. Security swiftly removed him from the courtroom, leading to a brief detention within the court premises.

Following the incident, the Bar Council of India promptly suspended Rakesh Kishore from legal practice, citing his behavior as conflicting with court dignity and breaching legal regulations. The suspension is interim pending further investigation into the matter.
