“Australian Women’s Cricket Team Protected After Harassment Incident”

Australia’s female cricket team received police protection in Navi Mumbai following a harassment incident involving two players in Indore. Ashleigh Gardner and Monica, who were harassed in Madhya Pradesh during the Women’s World Cup matches, shared a photo of their security escort on social media. The accused, Aqeel Khan, was swiftly arrested by the authorities after the incident in Khajrana Road area.

In response to the situation, increased security measures were implemented for the Australian team in Navi Mumbai, where they are currently stationed for the tournament. A senior police official mentioned that security guards were stationed around the team’s hotel to ensure their safety. Special precautions have been taken, including providing escorts for the players when they travel and deploying a significant number of personnel to safeguard the team.

Players have been advised to inform security personnel before leaving their accommodations to ensure they are accompanied by an escort at all times. The authorities emphasized the importance of players cooperating by informing police of their movements to avoid any security risks. The Australian team is set to compete against India in the Women’s ODI World Cup semi-final on October 30.
