“Apple to Launch Budget-Friendly MacBook Under $1,000”

Apple is reportedly developing a cost-effective MacBook to cater to budget-conscious consumers. The company aims to address the demand for more affordable options in its lineup, especially targeting students and those seeking budget-friendly devices.

According to reports from Bloomberg, Apple plans to keep the price of the new MacBook under $1,000 in the US by utilizing less advanced components. The device is expected to feature an iPhone chipset, deviating from earlier speculations of using the A18 Pro chipset found in the iPhone 16 Pro.

Despite concerns about performance with an iPhone chip, sources suggest that it could outperform the current M1 chipset. Additionally, the upcoming MacBook is anticipated to sport a lower-end LCD screen compared to the 13.6-inch display on the MacBook Air.

With a focus on students, Apple aims to compete with Windows laptops and Chromebooks in the $600 price range. Recent data from IDC shows Apple holding the fourth position in global PC market share, trailing behind Lenovo, HP, and Dell.

While some users opt for an iPad with a Magic Keyboard, the new MacBook is expected to offer better battery life and enhanced flexibility at a similar price point. The device, internally referred to as J700, is currently in early production and is projected to launch in the first half of 2026, priced around $600 in the US. Pricing details for the Indian market are yet to be disclosed.
