Reliance Jio has introduced an enticing new offer for its customers: a complimentary 18-month Google AI Pro subscription valued at a substantial Rs 35,100. This move signifies Jio’s expansion into the realm of artificial intelligence, aligning with Google’s robust AI tools. The promotion is initially available for users aged 18 to 25, with plans for a nationwide rollout later. The best part? No payment is required; all you need is an active Jio 5G plan.
To avail of the free Google AI Pro subscription, both prepaid and postpaid users with unlimited 5G plans priced at Rs 349 or above are eligible. The only condition is to maintain an active plan to continue enjoying the AI subscription. Early access has commenced for users aged 18 to 25, who can find a ‘Claim Now’ banner in the MyJio app. With a simple tap, they can unlock their 18-month Google AI Pro subscription at no extra charge.
For those outside the specified age group or not seeing the option, a ‘Register Interest’ banner may appear, indicating inclusion in the subsequent rollout phase. While Jio has not disclosed a precise timeline for the offer’s full availability, the anticipation suggests it will be accessible to all users soon.
Existing Google AI Pro subscribers are not excluded from the offer. According to Jio, current subscribers can transition to the complimentary Jio plan upon the completion of their ongoing billing cycle.
The Google AI Pro plan provides exclusive access to Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro model, facilitating advanced reasoning, coding, and creative writing tasks. Subscribers can also explore enhanced image and video generation tools like Nano Banana and Veo 3.1, Google’s latest video model. Additionally, users receive access to NotebookLM, an AI-powered research and summarization tool, alongside 2TB of cloud storage shared across Google Drive, Gmail, and Photos. This comprehensive AI package caters to heavy users and creators seeking to leverage AI capabilities to the fullest.
Jio’s initiative closely follows OpenAI’s recent India initiative, where it introduced a free one-year ChatGPT Go plan for Indian users. While ChatGPT Go offers a basic chatbot version, Google’s AI Pro is more aligned with ChatGPT Plus, priced at $20 (approximately Rs 1,999) per month.
Earlier this year, Jio’s primary competitor ventured into the AI trend by offering users a one-year Perplexity AI Pro plan, a premium subscription for an AI search engine startup. Nonetheless, Jio’s collaboration with Google surpasses this, both in value and brand recognition.
If you are a Jio user with a 5G plan and appreciate complimentary offerings, ensure to check your MyJio app promptly; your AI-driven future could be awaiting under the “Claim Now” section.
