A Karva Chauth gathering in Ghaziabad turned violent on Wednesday evening as a woman, her husband, and their son faced an alleged assault following a dispute over a motorcycle headlight. The incident, captured on CCTV, has since circulated widely on social platforms.
The family had visited the Kotwali Nagar area for Mehendi application before the festival. Reports from police and witnesses suggest that the conflict arose when a motorcyclist arrived, with his headlight shining directly into the woman’s face.
Upon the woman’s request to dim the light, which went unheeded by the motorcyclist, her husband stepped in and turned off the headlight himself. This action apparently angered the motorcyclist who then called two associates to the scene.
The situation quickly turned physical, with the three men allegedly attacking the woman’s husband and son. The woman also sustained injuries while trying to intervene in the scuffle.
Authorities have identified the suspects based on the CCTV footage, with one individual currently in custody for questioning. The police stated that further investigations are ongoing to apprehend the other individuals involved in the assault. Details regarding the family’s injuries and condition have not been fully disclosed at this time.
