“Apple to Upgrade iPad and MacBook with OLED Panels”

Apple is said to be preparing a major upgrade for its iPad and MacBook series by introducing OLED panels. According to Bloomberg, the tech giant from Cupertino will soon incorporate OLED displays into the iPad Mini, iPad Air, and MacBooks, offering users a more vivid visual experience compared to the current LCD screens.

The iPad Mini is expected to be the first to receive the OLED display. However, this enhancement may result in a $100 price increase for the device in the US. Additionally, Apple is testing a new water-resistant casing for the iPad Mini, similar to the iPhones, which includes a new speaker system utilizing vibration-related technology. The iPad Mini featuring an OLED screen is anticipated to be unveiled in 2026.

Following the iPad Mini, the iPad Air is likely to be the next device to adopt an OLED panel. The upcoming M5 version of the iPad Air, set to launch next year, will continue to use the existing LCD display. The transition to an OLED screen for the iPad Air is projected to occur in 2027.

While the iPad Pro already boasts an OLED screen, Apple reportedly has no immediate plans to upgrade the display of the base iPad. The company is also working on a foldable iPad, but its launch has been postponed to 2029.

Moving on to the MacBook lineup, the MacBook Pro is expected to feature an OLED display in its next redesign, alongside the M6 chipset. The recent launch of the MacBook Pro with the M5 processor saw minimal design changes. There are speculations that the upcoming MacBook Pro may also include a touchscreen display and could be released by the end of 2026.

Subsequently, Apple will update the MacBook Air with an OLED screen, likely by 2028. The next MacBook Air, scheduled for release in 2026, will stick with the LCD display.

The technological advancements in Apple’s devices are paving the way for enhanced user experiences, setting the stage for a more visually immersive future.
